When a workflow, an AI agent or a teammate asks a customer to show an issue, the widget shows a card with Take screenshot or Record my screen. On the customer’s tap, the widget moves out of the way and a small bar appears over your app. The SDK captures your app when the customer taps Capture or Start. Workflows, AI agents and teammates can also collect logs from your app without asking the customer. How to ask, what the customer sees and what your team gets: Screenshots, recordings and logs.
Needs the Flutter SDK 19.1.0 or later. Older versions show the card with Upload a file only.

How your app is captured

  • On iOS and Android, the native SDKs capture your app’s own screens, without Gleap’s own UI. There is no system prompt, and you don’t need to add permissions or Info.plist keys.
  • On iOS and Android, recordings run at about 4 frames per second, without sound, up to the maximum length set in the dashboard (3 minutes at most). On Android, they need Android 8.0 or newer.
  • Flutter draws its widgets itself, so the SDK can’t recognize password fields or black out single widgets in Flutter screens. On Android, screens you protect with FLAG_SECURE are captured too. If parts of your app must never be captured, turn captures off (see below).
  • On the web, the Flutter SDK uses the JavaScript SDK. Page recordings on phones and tablets leave out canvas elements, and Flutter draws web apps into a canvas.

Turn screenshots, recordings and log requests off

Both are on by default and can be called before or after Gleap.initialize. On iOS and Android, setRemoteLogCollectionEnabled(enabled: false) also sends screenshots and recordings without logs.
