# Ionic Capacitor SDK: Release notes & news

Share release notes and news with customers with the Gleap Ionic Capacitor SDK. Follow the integration code examples.

Gleap allows you to share release notes & news articles with your customers.

You can send release notes & news directly within the Gleap Dashboard. Once sent, the user gets notified when he starts his next session.

## Open the news section by code

If you'd like to manually show the news section of the Gleap widget, you can do so by calling the following method:

```javascript
Gleap.openNews({
  showBackButton: true,
});
```

_The first parameter_ **_showBackButton_** _sets whether or not the main tabbar and back buttons will be shown._

## Open a news article by code

If you'd like to manually a news article directly within the Gleap widget, you can do so by calling the following method:

```javascript
Gleap.openNewsArticle({
  articleId: "articleId",
  showBackButton: true,
});
```

_The first parameter_ **_articleId_** _defines the article to show._

_The second parameter_ **_showBackButton_** _sets whether or not the main tabbar and back buttons will be shown._
