# Ionic Capacitor SDK: Conversations

## Start a new conversation

You can manually start a new conversation with the following method:

```javascript
Gleap.startConversation({ showBackButton: true });
```

## Open the conversation history

If you'd like to manually show the conversation history of the Gleap widget, you can do so by calling the following method:

```javascript
Gleap.openConversations({ showBackButton: true });
```
